Beautifully handcrafted timber interior boasting modern, cosy comforts. Impressively spacious internal living area of 21sqm including a generous shower room of 2.5sqm. The elevated outdoor deck offers an additional 16.5sqm allowing you to enjoy the fresh air, views and possibly al fresco dining.
Especially for two... or the solo traveller
Our Highland Hut is specifically designed only for one or two people in one handbuilt, fixed double bed and we regret that we cannot accommodate children or pets. With six external steps and a deep internal step (with moveable mid-step), access is not suitable for wheelchairs or guests with reduced mobility.
Availability and Rates
We offer arrival on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays with a minimum 3-night stay, encouraging a slower pace and reducing our impact on the environment via reduced laundry. We may occasionally be able to offer different arrival days, please just send us an email via our Contact page as you won’t be able to select alternative arrivals via our booking system.
WHAT'S ALL INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Electricity, up to 200MB WiFi, refreshments, snacks, toiletries, bed linen, and towels are included, together with laundered slippers for your comfort and to encourage removal of outdoor boots/shoes in the porch area. See a full list of facilities below. We also supply a starter load of logs, kindling and firelighters for the wood burner.
High-season £195 per night (Easter to October and Christmas and New Year)

Extra provisions and ingredients for meals can be purchased from our local independent supermarket Rankins, just 1 mile away, where you will find a fantastic variety of local, branded, budget, Asian, dietary and ethical produce and products. The fuel station at the bottom of the road (5 min walk) also offers a selection of groceries and will soon become part of the Rankins offering.
There is no dishwasher however plant-based dish soap and accessories enable you to wash up as you go.
There is no washing machine and guests are discouraged from washing clothes as the hut is not designed for indoor drying. You can launder clothes in Portree, Broadford and Kyleakin.

HEATING
We know the Highland weather well and love our own wood burning stove, so it was an obvious addition to create an even cosier atmosphere for your stay. The stove is augmented by a portable heater for when you just need a quick heat before heading out to explore our stunning island surroundings. Logs, kindling and fire lighters are supplied to start you off. Longer stays can purchase additional supplies direct from us. This is due to the burner requiring smaller size logs than commercially available.
AND... RELAX!!
If you prefer to relax, there is a selection of books and games/cards, binoculars, Amazon Echo Plus smart speaker, and free WiFi to connect your own viewing and/or listening devices. USB plug sockets enable device charging in the bedroom and living area.
OUTDOOR
The large, elevated and private deck includes 2 x sturdy wooden garden chairs and a lovely large wooden dining set that folds away when not in use.
EV Charging
EV charging is not permitted at the property. The nearest public charging station is located a short drive/walk down the hill in the public car park.
